You can expect tight handling and a comfortable ride from this ruggedly handsome half-ton, and then some, pickup. There’s also a couple different engine options, depending on the model you pick up.
These trucks normally come with a 4.3-liter V-6 engine or 5.3-liter V-8 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, though some V-8s come with an 8-speed. These engines put out 285 horsepower with 305 lb-ft of torque and 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, respectively. But there are some select models that come with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, giving you an impressive 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. These engines offer towing between 5,500 to 9,400 lbs, meaning you’ll have no problem bringing your camper along for a fishing trip or putting it to work at the job site. And with a max payload somewhere in the 1,736 to 2,011 lbs range you can get a good amount of versatility out of this vehicle.
There plenty of ways Sierra owners get the most out of their trucks through upgrades and performance parts. While some trucks came with the All-Terrain package which includes all of the following, you will find that a good amount of used models will have some of these options: Z71 Off-Road suspension package with Rancho monotube shocks, Hill Descent Control, automatic locking rear differential, underbody transfer case shield, 18-inch wheels wrapped by all-terrain tires, spray-on bed liner, and auto-dimming inside rearview mirror. That’s why it pays off to look at all of the features of the trucks in our inventory or talk to someone at our dealership so we can help pair you with a truck that will meet your needs.
