Powerful Engines And Smooth-Shifting Transmission

There are 3 powerful engines available on the 2021 GMC Yukon. One is a V-8, 5.3 liter, 355 horsepower gasoline engine, another is a V-8, 6.2 liter, 420 horsepower gasoline engine and the third is an inline-six, 3.0 liter, 277 horsepower Duramax turbo-diesel engine that's perfect for towing heavy items with a whopping 460 pound-feet of torque. All of the engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission controlled by the GM signature dashboard based push-button gear selector panel. All models of the 2021 Yukon are available with either all-wheel-drive or rear-wheel drive.

The Four Trim Levels

The 2021 GMC Yukon is available in 4 different trim levels. They are the SEL, SLT, AT4 and the Denali. Here is a closer look at each of them.

The SEL Trim

The 2021 GMC Yukon SLE is a rear wheel drive vehicle that comes powered by 5.3 liter, 355 horsepower V8 gasoline engine as standard equipment or an optional 3.0 liter turbo diesel engine. Either engine is paired with a sweet 10-speed automatic transmission. The Yukon's 355 horsepower engine can deliver 383 pound-feet of torque while the turbo diesel engine produces 277 pound-feet of torque. It has rack and pinion steering and a turning diameter of 38.1 feet. The SLE has 18.5 inch aluminum wheels, seats 8 people comfortably in its three rows, is ergonomically designed and has a reconfigurable 10.25
inch diagonal infotainment system with head-up display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and has optional 4G LTE connectivity options.

The SLT Trim

The SLT trim of the 2021 GMC Yukon comes as either a 4x2 or a 4x4 and is powered by a 355 horsepower, 5.3 liter V-8 gasoline engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. This trim features power windows, privacy glass and rear defrost and an optional panoramic moonroof. It has 20 inch aluminum wheels and optional All-Season tires and a tire pressure monitoring system. It has a trailer hitch receiver and can tow up to 8,000v pounds. The SLT trim has keyless entry, remote start, leather wrapped steering wheel, electro-chromic rearview mirror, HD radio, premium sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The AT4 Trim

New for 2021, the Yukon AT4 is made for off-roading. It has a tall stance, dark chrome finished grille, gloss black front bumper and a 32-degree front approach angle for climbing steep grades. It also has a skid plate and horizontal torch-red recovery hooks in the front. Plus, it has black assist steps and roof rails, 20-inch six-spoke machined-aluminum wheels featuring Carbon Gray Metallic accents along with 20-inch all-terrain tires. The AT4 also has heated steering wheel, first-row bucket seat, second-row power release bench, as well as available outboard second-row bucket seats. The new AT4 has a V-8 5.3 liter 355 horsepower EcoTec, a 10-speed automatic transmission and AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case that has low-range gearing for additional torque to power up and over steep obstacles.

The Denali Trim

The top of the line Yukon Denali trim has the all-new active response four-wheel-drive system and air ride four-corner adaptive suspension as available equipment. Plus, it has the all-new Denali-exclusive interior design. It is powered by a best-in-class 420 horsepower, 6.2 liter, V-8 engine and has a class leading 9 camera views available. Inside, all of the instrument readings are available to the driver at a glance in a 15 inch diagonal head-up display and the Denali can tow as much as 8,000 pounds. At 210 inches in length, the Denali has luxurious seating for 8 and a maximum cargo volume of 122 cubic feet. Premium leather seating surfaces and authentic wood highlights help make the Denali trim even more special.
