Jeep Wrangler Special Editions

The Jeep Wrangler has been around for many years. This SUV is often known for its off-road prowess, but it has a history even before that. In 1997, the TJ Jeep Wrangler was introduced, but it was not until 2003 that the first off-road focused Wrangler Rubicon was introduced. In 2007, the next-generation JK Jeep Wrangler was first debuted with a fresh design including a larger four-door model option. There are three main types of Jeep Wranglers. These three types include the Wrangler Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The Sport is the most basic model that is the most affordable Wrangler option, The Sahara is a mid-level option with more standard features, and the Rubicon is known to have the most features including off-road features and technology.

Altitude

The Jeep Wrangler Altitude is a special edition Wrangler from the year 2012. This special edition gives you features like unique styling and unique interior features. The Wrangler Altitude was made available with four different exterior colors including Deep Cherry Red, Bright White, Brilliant Silver, and Black. This special edition also has some other special exterior features like hood graphics, side steps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, a mopar fuel filler door, and more. You can also get Radar Red and Hi-Gloss Black interior accents as well as black leather seats with this special edition.

When it comes to performance in the Altitude, you can find a Pentastar V6 engine that gives you 280-horsepower. You also get many of the great off-road features that come on the Jeep Wrangler.

Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition

In 2003, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon was first introduced as an off-road focused model. For 2013, the Rubicon 10th Anniversary Special Edition was introduced to celebrate this vehicle’s legacy. The Rubicon was named after an off-road trail, and it was packed with off-road equipment. For the Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition, there are new features like steel winch-ready bumpers, new rock rails, and BF Goodrich KM2 off-road tires. This vehicle also has a one-half inch increase in ride height to give you more ground clearance. You can also find an anniversary red leather interior in this limited-edition special edition Wrangler.

Rubicon X

In 2014, one of the special editions to watch out for is the Rubicon X. This vehicle features some amazing off-road features like a Rock-Trac transfer case, brake lock differentials, red tow hooks, premium rock rails, an electronic front sway bar disconnect, and more. This vehicle is home to the 285-horsepower Pentastar V6 engine, and it gives you great interior features like an Alpine 7 speaker sound system and heated leather seats.

Black Bear

For 2016, the Wrangler Black Bear is an impressive special edition. This special edition was named for the Black Bear Pass trail that can be found in Colorado. Black Bear Pass is only a 10-mile trail, but it is known to have high altitudes, narrow stretches, and intense switchbacks, which make it a tough trail to conquer. The Black Bear special edition gives you unique features like a topographical map hood decal, rock rails, 17-inch wheels, Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor tires, and more. This vehicle also has interior features like all-weather floor mats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, instrument bezels, and iron gray door handles.

Backcountry

The Jeep Wrangler Backcountry is another special edition from the 2016 year. This vehicle is inspired by winter athletes and those that battle the weather. The Backcountry can be found in a purple color with some special graphics. However, this vehicle is also available in Granite, Hydro Blue, Black, and White. For off-road features, this vehicle gives you a front winch bumper, Rubicon wheels and rock rails, a Tru-Lok rear differential, and BFG K02 Tires.

Willys Wheeler

This special edition Jeep Wrangler came out in 2017, but it gets its inspiration from the 1940s Willys CJ. Jeep started out creating military Jeeps for World War II, but the Willys CJ was a civilian version of this military Jeep. The 2017 Willys Wheeler edition has some design cues and options that are a throwback to the original Willys. The Willys Wheeler has a great look with a two-door Jeep, high-gloss black 17-inch wheels, BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires, black cloth seating, and more. You get off-road features like the Command-Trac four-wheel drive, a Trac-Lok rear differential, off-road rock rails, and more. However, unlike the original Willys CJ, you have some impressive technology features like a Uconnect system and a premium Alpine sound system.
