8. Change oil regularly
Oil is one of the most important fluids in your truck. It lubricates the parts and prevents friction between them. Therefore, make sure you change oil every 6 months or every 7,500 miles you put on the truck. Check your vehicle’s manual to know which and how much oil should be used. If your truck is quite old, change the oil filter as well.
9. Check the lights
The electrical components too can indicate when your truck needs a refresher. Maintenance is not only about the oil and tires; it’s about each and every aspect of your truck which keeps it running. A simple check to see if all your lights are working will tell you if the truck is experiencing any electrical problems. You can get them repaired during service and avoid getting into any major accidents due to poor light or being fined for having burned out lights.
10. Change air filters
Over time, air filters get clogged by debris and dust, making it difficult for the air to properly mix with fuel. Change the air filters every 15,000 or 30,000 miles to optimize the truck’s performance and efficiency. If you regularly travel on dusty roads, then change the filters as often as you can.
