In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's testing, the Outback received the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating after earning a Good rating (the highest possible) in the moderate-overlap front-offset crash test, as well as the side-impact and roof strength tests. It also earned an Acceptable rating (second highest) in the new small-overlap frontal-offset crash test. This makes it a great used vehicle for you and your family.
