If you live in the Concord and Epsom areas and love music, you’re in luck. There are a lot of great music venues in the area that you can enjoy. At Tim’s Truck Capital, we all like to go out and hear live music and thought we’d share one of our favorite spots with you.
The Capital Center For The Arts in Concord is a terrific venue. It’s an intimate venue and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The Capitol Theatre opened in 1927 and was a prime stop on the old Vaudeville circuit. It also served as a premier moviehouse and concert hall, until it slipped into disrepair and was closed in 1989.
In 1995, it was renovated with $4.2 million and more than 3,000 hours of work to paint and restore the Egyptian-motif artwork. It has 1,304 seats and can present concerts, comedy and even lavish Broadway shows. It’s also home to the Spotlight Cafe, a venue where the community can discover exciting work in a hip, club-style atmosphere. The Chubb Theatre is where high profile artists perform.
In March, you can see Altan, a traditional Irish band and Capitol Steps, showcasing their latest political, musical satire. New Rep’s Classic Repertory Company will perform Othello in April. Daughtry and Charlie Daniels Band are also performing in April.
