This is a beautiful historic barn in a small Hillsborough County town.It’s a great place to take a photograph of the New Hampshire night sky, or just view the stars.There are lots of great places to stargaze—just pick any road less traveled, stop and look up to enjoy the view.

Crawford Notch Depot

This depot was built in 1891 and is used by the Conway Scenic Railroad as one of its stops for passengers traveling from North Conway through the beautiful mountain pass.On a clear night, it’s one of the best places to stargaze in the White Mountains of New Hampshire!

White Lake State Park

Located in Tamworth, White Lake State Parkis just far enough away from the bright night lights.White Lake is surrounded by a National Landmark of 72 acre Pitch Pine Stand. One a clean night, the starlit sky illuminates the crystal clear waters of the lake below.Stunning.

Pemigewasset Overlook

Located on the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112) in the White Mountains, the overlook is a “must stop” for anyone looking for commanding views of the Oscelo Mountains during the day.But at night, this remote and rural spot provides an amazing backdrop for stargazing.

Shattuck Observatory At Dartmouth

The Dartmouth Department of Physics and Astronomy offers free viewing through their astronomical telescopes to the public on Friday nights.You can observe the moon, planets and stars from the small white shed behind the observatory--look for red lights to guide the way.
