Halloween is a favorite holiday in Epsom NH and the surrounding communities. But what can make this Halloween even better? You can help children with allergies have a happy and memorable Halloween, thanks to the Teal Pumpkin Project.
The Teal Pumpkin Project
Life with food allergies can be a challenge for kids, especially at Halloween. The Teal Pumpkin Project was launched in 2014 as a national campaign by Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), to spread a message of awareness, community and inclusion. It offers an alternative for kids with life-threatening food allergies so
they can enjoy Halloween like everyone else.
How To Participate In The Teal Pumpkin Project
It’s easy to be a part of the Teal Pumpkin Project. Just put a teal pumpkin and/or free printable sign on your stoop or by your mailbox where it’s visible to trick-or-treaters. This lets them know you have non-food goodies to hand out. A lot of stores sell teal pumpkins but you can also paint one yourself and add a cool design.
You can still pass out candy at Halloween, but have a separate bucket with other treats. Bracelets, mini slinkys, whistles, pencils, crayons, mini notepads, bookmarks, stencils and stickers make great Halloween treats for kids with allergies. By taking part in the Teal Pumpkin Project you’ll help kids with life-threatening allergies have a great time.
