Some of the lower trim options start with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, but with your Laramie trim, your standard engine is the 5.7-liter V8 engine. • 5.7-liter V8 engine – Your base engine in the 1500 Laramie is a 5.7-liter V8 engine that gives you 395-horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
• 5.7-liter V8 engine with eTorque mild-hybrid system – Your second engine option is the V8 above but with an eTorque mild-hybrid system. Your V8 engine gives you 395-horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. However, with your eTorque system you can add up 130 pound-feet of torque.
• 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine – You also have a diesel engine option that can be found in the RAM 1500 Laramie. This 3.0-liter V6 engine option gives you 260-horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque.
• 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine – The final engine option can be a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. This is your most powerful engine option, and it can give you 702-horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.

This truck comes standard with rear wheel drive, but four wheel drive is available. The transmission for this truck is an eight-speed automatic transmission.

When it comes to performance, you can also add certain packages to give you the exact performance you want. The Max Tow package for example adds a Class IV receiver hitch, power trailer-tow mirrors, and a trailer brake controller.

Towing capacity in your RAM 1500, depends on the engine and how the vehicle is equipped.
