The Ram 1500 is offered with either rear-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive in a host of models and configurations. Regular cab trucks seat three across and feature bed lengths of either 76 inches or 96 inches. For 2014 the Ram 1500 sees a number of refinements to help keep it competitive in the full-sized truck genre. The old 4.7L V8 is gone, as it made barely any more power than the Pentastar V6, which gets better mileage. Ram expects to release a 3.0L V6 diesel later in the year to supplement the engine choices available on the 1500. For 2014 the V6-powered Ram also sees a dramatic increase in towing capacity, up to 7,450 lbs. A parking assist feature is now available on some of the more luxurious trims.
