The SportWagen is aptly named-- engineered to handle well, and also designed to carry a good amount of stuff. With the rear seat up, you'll find 32.8 cubic feet of space. Folded flat, the rear cargo space expands to 67 cubic feet. An optional fold-flat front passenger seat provides additional cargo space, while an optional panoramic sunroof lets in a substantial amount of ambient light.
Safety is paramount in the Jetta SportWagen, with head and thorax side airbags standard, as are full-length side-curtain bags. Side thorax bags for rear occupants are optional. Also standard are traction control and anti-lock brakes with brake assist and traction control.
All SportWagens come with air conditioning, cruise control, a CD sound system, 8-way adjustable front seats, power windows and locks, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, heated power mirrors and tilt/telescopic steering standard. The SE adds a leather steering wheel and shifter, 10-speaker stereo with 6-disc CD changer and satellite radio, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, and alloy wheels. TDI models are outfitted as a mix between S and SE trims.
Popular options and packages include a navigation system and panoramic power sunroof, both of which also come grouped in the Premium Package. Bodyside moldings, ground effects kits, and premium alloy wheels are also available.
